Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy in Orlando, FL — Achieve Growth Therapy
Introduction

A different kind of help, when the usual paths haven’t worked

Some struggles don’t loosen their grip through talk therapy or medication alone. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy offers another way forward—combining a well-studied medicine with the depth of real therapeutic work.

At Achieve Growth Therapy, Artie Gately, LMHC, offers this care in Orlando and across Florida by telehealth, in partnership with Journey Clinical’s medical team. This page walks through what it is, how it works, and what to expect.

The basics

What is ketamine assisted psychotherapy?

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) is a treatment that combines the medicine ketamine with structured psychotherapy. The ketamine can create a window of openness and flexibility, and the therapy helps you use that window to understand and shift long-standing patterns.

It is used for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other concerns that haven’t fully responded to conventional care. The medicine is one part; the preparation, support, and integration around it are what help change take root.

The process

How ketamine-assisted psychotherapy works

01 — Preparation

We explore your history, hopes, and intentions, and build the safety and trust that let the medicine sessions go where they need to.

02 — Medicine sessions

You self-administer the ketamine prescribed by Journey Clinical’s medical team in a calm, supported setting, with Artie present throughout.

03 — Integration

Together we make meaning of what came up and translate it into changes that hold in everyday life.

Our role

What we do—and what we don’t

Achieve Growth Therapy provides the therapy

Artie Gately, LMHC, leads the psychotherapy—preparation, support during your self-administered dosing sessions, and integration afterward. This is the relational, change-making heart of the work.

Journey Clinical handles the medical side

Journey Clinical’s licensed medical team handles eligibility screening, the medical and psychiatric evaluation, prescribing the ketamine (a sublingual lozenge), and ongoing medical monitoring. We do not prescribe, administer, or supply ketamine.

Who it helps

KAP may be a fit for people experiencing

Depression

Including depression that hasn’t lifted with antidepressants or talk therapy alone.

Anxiety

Persistent worry, tension, or fear that keeps shaping daily decisions.

PTSD & trauma

The lasting weight of difficult or overwhelming past experiences.

Feeling stuck

A sense of being blocked or flat despite real effort to feel better.

If you’re in crisis, please call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). You deserve support right now.

What to expect

A calm, well-paced experience

The work begins with an initial consultation and a medical evaluation through Journey Clinical to confirm KAP is appropriate for you. From there, we move through preparation, your medicine sessions, and integration—at a pace that feels steady and safe.

Most people are accompanied through a series of sessions rather than a single visit. We’ll talk openly about what each step involves so there are no surprises along the way.

Insurance & cost

Clear and honest about cost

Therapy at Achieve Growth Therapy is cash-pay. If you have out-of-network mental health benefits, we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement.

The ketamine medication and medical visits are billed separately by Journey Clinical’s medical provider, so those costs are distinct from the therapy fees. We’re glad to walk through the full picture before you commit to anything.
